What does a Graphic Designer do?
Each design is different. To understand how design will solve a particular communication problem, the designer asks the following questions: What is the message? What will the audience see? How will they feel? And most important, what will they understand and take away with them?
Embracing new technology allows a designer to explore new ideas and discover fresh ways of doing things. But a graphic designer is not a desktop publisher. The medium does not define the designer: it is the designer who defines the medium. Talent, training and instinct are more important than the medium, whether it is a computer, a television screen or drafting table.
